Makaton with The Adventure Service Nottingham

The Adventure Service Nottingham is a unique organisation which provides outstanding support for people with additional needs through inclusive outdoor activities that are thoughtfully adapted to suit each individual. Their understanding of a wide range of additional needs, together with clear and effective communication, helps ensure that everyone feels welcome, valued and able to take part.

I was privileged to teach Makaton to many of their staff, and it has been a real pleasure to see it being used so confidently and effectively in their day-to-day work to support communication.

Through this training, alongside their very person-centred, flexible and professional approach, the team helps people to communicate with confidence and take part in activities at their own pace. Their commitment to inclusion really stands out, creating positive and genuinely uplifting experiences for participants and their families.
